Trepidation, ‘twixt your thoughts.
Is that a shadow, or is it naught?
Notification of some surprise.
There’s something there behind your eyes.
‘Round the corner, escapes your view.
Whatever’s there is after you.
Soundless creature, watching gaze.
Causing fear as it surveys.
What does it want? To be set free?
To bring an end to you and me?
A grim idea to entertain.
To let loose things you can’t explain.
Perplexing creature, lurking there.
Hear me now, you must prepare.
Face the demon lurking near.
Gazing from behind the mirror.
